374: Okay, le Deuxieme...
You know how I come from Sacramento, where there is a long traditonal of whining and bitching about everything? Yeah, my busy-ness isn't really as bad as I made out...XP (I mean, next year? Yeah, *then* it'll be crazy, fur sure. Again, XP.)

The Mann Show went really well, and so did the meeting. Read this essay by Wendy McElroy, a sex-positive defense of pornography, which is what we talked about. Martina also suggested, once we're an official club, she can get Sal Johnston and Michelle Switzer to get together with us for an event in which they both talk about their differing opinions on this matter.

Also, as towards writing the constitution, something Martina said clarified it for me: "there's no denying this is your brain-child" as towards the club. So I'll be writing it this weekend, and we'll discuss it. So, on March 11th we're off to ICC! Like, OMG, BITCH! I know, LOL! XD

(Sorry, me and Rosealee are getting our little jokes only...;P

Okay, I'm too old for this...
What the hell is the Mann Show? I thought I understood it as a metaphor for your great, abiding love for Aimee Mann, but now, it's real? It's a real show? And it went well?

Congratulations, but what the hell is it that went well? I need some things besides your emoticon language explained to me, damn it!

:) X;d >>b

What that means, I have no idea, but there you go.

The first one is a smiley face of course! ^_~

Yeah, I DJ a radio show for my college radio station (KPoet) called "The Mann Show". It started out as part of my love of my Mann, and I try and play her as much as possible, but it's mostly alternative/indie female singer-songwriters. Or whatever song strikes my fancy. :)

You should listen in next week! (I'll post the link the day of... it's on the internet, these days...:P)

Re: Okay, I'm too old for this...
Oh, thank God! Now the entire world makes sense again.

You've mentioned this "Mann Show" before, and I just didn't really think about it.

So, since I live relatively near to Whittier, according to your earlier gang-threat posts on my site (when you shot yourself with the nail gun), is this a station I can pick up on my actual radio do you suppose? Where is it on the dial? And so it's what? Wednesdays at 7?

Is your show available on podcast? (Here I am, so demanding.)

And then I see you added me as a friend on myspace. Thank you for bringing a drop of water to my desert over there. It's so funny, your WTF do I have a myspace, because THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I'M THINKING! I originally signed up for an account to merely send one email to one long-ago aquaintance of mine, and then I haven't even friended him. And then I don't really do jack with it. I'd like to, but it's hard to get my horse-and-buggy world to fit there.

You'll have to help me turn my myspace page from a John McCain type place to a bitchin' cool Obama hangout. Or you won't have to, actually. You can probably do whatever the hell you want.

Have you ever heard of Elvis Perkins? All the Night Without Love? I love that song.

Re: Okay, I'm too old for this...
Naw, they only have it on the internet; as you can imagine, my generation doesn't listen to actual broadcast radio that much as it is...:P

Yeah, I originally got it for a similar reason, but I maintain it fairly regularly, because so many people I know have it, and the music pages make it worth it for me. Still--hate MySpace. XP

Hee. Prefer LJ, but I'm sure I'll soon start haunting you on MySpace as I do unwoman...*giggles* (I'm doing a piece on her for the BBC--the literary magazine that's being started, that I am a founding member of here).

I haven't heard of the song; but then... have you heard my very convulted musical history? It's intresting, and explains a lot about my musical tastes. (That is, as with movies, I've sadly not seen/heard as much as I would like. :()

Okay, I'm younger now....
So I'll try to remember to tune in next Wednesday on that link then. *Doubts self very much about that* (Okay, I'm becoming possessed and talking like you now. Stop that.)

The reason I ask about this particular song is that I've been enjoying the living hell out of it for a few weeks, and hearing your tastes, I just think you'd like it. I know NOTHING about him.

I subscribe to several iTunes podcasts, two of which give me a new song each day, and then I put these into a song list and that's pretty much my playlist lately. It came one day from KCRW, and I've been grooving on it ever since. I heard the Travis song on your site and just thought of the Elvis Perkins song.

Re: Okay, I'm younger now....
Heehee. Well, if I can find it and somehow get a hold of it... yeah, sure.

Actually, my friend also asked about making a podcast... But I don't think we have the recording equipment--or it broke. XD Supposedly the computer is on it's last leg and there's a lot of things we still need... we're currently operating out of the basement of the English building, in these two tiny rooms; but next semester, I hear, we'll have a new space, and some new equipment, so hold out hope!

Hee. Y'know, it's not *my* fault you're so susceptible to my influence! ;P (Though I do find it flattery...*high-pitched giggles*)

Re: Okay, I'm younger now....
It's entirely your fault. (Guess my locus of control is a little external at the present time.)

So, you can "broadcast" over the Internet, streaming live, but you can't record it? What? Okay, admitedly I don't know much about it.

Re: Okay, I'm younger now....
Don't ask me! It took forever for me to remember which button to push when! (There really aren't that many buttons...:P)
