439: PURPLE...!
So, even if you miss tonight's show, hey, you can still hear what I sound like, and even see this time! I now present you my first video in well over a year; thanks to my Lesbian husband for directing and editing, and Amy, my beloved purple dildo (obviously NOT safe for work, but soooo worth it!):

57: Realizations...

1. My waste basket is *purple*. How did I not notice this awesomeness before?

2. Due to my birthday being January 10th (*cough*), my age correllates perfectly to the year. For instance, I can confidently refer to 2005 as the year I was 17, 2004 as when I was 16, etc. This is evident in my classifying of my eras of poetry by year (and thus, age). That is quite cool.

3. Speaking of my birthday, for my 17th I got a set of rechargable batteries from Mrs. Summers, and she was quite surprised to find out I still have them, commenting I take good care of my things. Well, I was feeling sucky that I'd lost one, 'til I found it in my backpack, where it had been the whole time. *laughs* Well, needless to say, I'm ecstatic. Also, I only take such good care of my thigns now, partly 'cause I never did when I was younger (I in fact trashed stuff), and because almost everything from my childhood has been lost, either because of me or my Dad throwing it all out when we moved.

4. Also, also: I have this strange tendency in my personality I've just discovered -- how when I first meet someone and am unimpressed with them, and then later get to know them and absolutely fall in love with them. Obviously my first impressions are *always* wrong. This also extends to music. I'm listening to The Strokes; Dukie gave me a copy of it awhile back, but I didn't really care for it on first listen. Then I listened to it again, and liked it a little better. Now, after deciding to give them a chance, I really like it. Same with Devon Galley. I felt guilty, so I gave him another chance. Now I've discovered a new bunch of treasures on my computer. How exciting.

5. This theme of my wrong first impressions extends to Michael of course -- I think I'm really coming to care for him. Like, I know I seem all squeeful about boys and junk, but the sound of his voice comforts me and makes me happy. I should call him--'cause, as I've said before, he's said my calls are the highlight of his day. *smiles*

56: Mama Needs a New 'Keys to the Kingdom'!

They just released the cover for Lady Friday:

You can imagine my reaction when I first saw this. I literally bounced in my seat, clapping and squealing in breathelss, fangirlish delight, screaming "PURPLE!" over and over again like a prayer. Yet, despite my excitement, I am not impatient like I was whilst waiting for Drowned Wednesday to come out. That was because Drowned Wednesday was pushed back for six months--something that my guy Nix came dangerously close to this time, as he only just now finished it (it comes out in March).

The books in this series are actually getting shorter, and he just takes longer to write them. But I trust him, and understand. The second book was somewhat rushed, and now that he's taken his good old time with them, they've just been getting better. Drowned Wednesday was more build-up, and Sir Thursday was more transitionary. The fact that the cover is overwhelmed by my favorite color must be a sign that this is the book that'll have the big explosion of action right?

I sound critical; but it's only because this is my favorite series. I'm just glad that with these last two I haven't been as impatient; in fact, I'm relishing my wait. This fifth installment will make a very nice graduation present from my favorite Australian. ^_^

And it goes without saying that this is my new desktop; sorry [info]ellizen, but a girl can't pass up the chance for some extra purple in her life--you understand...
