A few days back, I was having a total panic-attack about being able to do all the things I'm signing myself up for next year. And now it looks like I may be adding yet another (WAY bigger) obligation, and yet, it's not stressing me. Today, I handled my business much more productively, so I'm feeling positive about it.
That is, registered this morning. By doing my homework very carefully I was able to have no trouble getting into the classes I was aiming at: English 220 (survey course), French 220 (Intermediate), Philosophy 386 (Feminist Philosophy), English 310 (Linguistics), INTD 011 (class for being on QC), and INTD 033 (Teaching Composition).
I'll be part of the QC staff next year, so I figured that would be a good one credit class to take. (In case you haven't figured it out yet, that's the Quaker Campus, student newspaper). The Teaching Composition one has a caveat or three. According to my advisor, it is indeed the class for Peer Mentors, for the Freshmen Writing Composition classes. So I need to talk to Charlie Eastman, because I'm not sure why it would let me sign up for that... but it is right up my alley, so I would be amazingly pleased if I *could* be a Peer Mentor/Tutor/whatever they're calling it this year. That was one of the few saving graces of *my* first semester.
Speaking of which, my second opinion piece for the QC (which I just turned in today) is all about that. I'll be sure to post--and this time, I know how to make all the links work, swearsit! ^_^
Okay, go start reading
This is just a quick reminder that I go on in half an hour, so for anyone who can listen, here's the link:

(Okay, gotta dash--see y'all at 7 (j'espere)!)

And if you have IM, we can engage in some funny back-and-forth (hikari_leo does this with me during almost every show, tippity-typing between songs), my AIM is andyleggett18 and my Yahoo is andyleggett17. (Yeah, I know... very original monikers.)
So, if you're not doin' anything else, give me a listen...^_^
(Oh, and
The Mann Show tonight at 7. I know, I always forget till the last minute...XP
Line to listen is here:

Playing some Aimee Mann, getting back to eponymous basics and such, and I'll be singing something, though it might be a Regina Spektor song, I'm not sure yet...
... at 7p.m. Listen here: http://www.live365.com/sta
Sorry about my recent illness, but spring break has refreshed me, and hopefully I will be able to sing--though no promises. (Of course, never say never...) I'll prolly be too lazy to go and fetch my CDs, and I'm bored with them anyway, so expect even worse awkward randomocity than usual...
Of course, if you'd like to hear my sweet, sweet voice (la mia dolce voce), then by all means, tune in! ;D
Just before I went to sleep last night, I was suddenly struck by what I had dared them all to do--let's this be a warning, no matter how healthy you may appear, if the majority around you is sick, they may just end up overwhelming your previously infallible immune system like a horde of hacking, pajama-bottomed zombies... Ick.
So, I am sooo sick. Consider the Mann Show canceled tonight. I've never missed a show before, but then, I almost never get sick, so...*shrug*
*puts hand to forehead* Uhhhhgggg.... *wanders off*
1. Saw "Gangs of New York" for AICH2, and discussed it this morning. Very good movie, actually; you were right, Dorothy. Not about Leo, of course, because I do not find him attractive. Titanic was me and my sister's movie, so she got Leo and I got my persisting crush on Winslet, which wasn't abated by "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind". Not that I want to be Carey (Heavens, no!), though he was actually really good in that film, surprisingly... Wait, what was my point? Oh, right. That I think Kate Winslet is hawt? Yeah, I have strange taste...
2. The Mann Show started airing again tonight. Sorry, guys! Scheduling conflicts got it moved, just for this week though. The usual awesomeness, got to play a bunch of new music I brought. And they have all of Kate Havnevik's "Melankton" at the station! I need to burn that shit, somehow...
3. Second meeting of the Gender Club. Was down to two attendees, old Rosealee and relatively new Rita. It was a good meeting though, excellent discussion, and passed the petition to Rosealee. Formalized group mission, set meeting time for Thursdays at 6, and did I mention the actual discussion?
Neither of these girls are actually feminists, though to hear them talk they definitely are on the same page with me in that "extremism is bad; some feminists rub us the wrong way; but we also don't like the image of man-hating." Oh, and Rosealee will bring her book on sexual vs. gender identities. Should be fun.

Meanwhile, I'm still obssessed with "Closer". Well, that movie was good, but I'm talking about teh pretty Travis song, actually. ;P
P.S. Oh! I forgot! And I spent most of the afternoon reading *all* of the reading of Mill's "The Subjection of Women". So proud of myself! (It's an excerpt, but still a lot. I'm sure I'm the only one who managed to both read it and understand it. So double yay for me!)
1. "Guys Like Me," Aimee Mann
2. "The Little Mermaid," Unwoman
3. "Getting Scared," Imogen Heap
4. "Sullen Girl," Fiona Apple
5. "Luka," Suzanne Vega
6. "Spark," Tori Amos
7. "Talk to Me Now," Ani DiFranco
8. "Fall Apart Again," Brandi Carlile
9. "Worn Me Down," Rachael Yamagata
10. "Everything," Alanis Morissette
11. "Humpty Dumpty," Aimee Mann (theme song)
12. "The Little Mermaid," Unwoman (fade into Neslie's show)
Today's theme was female singer-songwriters, and some feminism proppred up, you can be sure. ^_~
